    Leaving St. Louis was hard.  It would have been easier if we'd looked at the street signs and realized we should turn LEFT instead of RIGHT and ended up in East St. Louis; on the other side of the Mississippi in Illinois!   On top of that we were dealing with another equipment failure.     Continental breakfast for all the vets and spouses, etc. Sitting with Vince's adopted Navy friends of 40 plus years. I am sitting next to a WWII vet who was in Pearl Harbor on December 7th. He was 18 years old and served on one of the USS New Orleans, which was in the naval yard at the time and the ship was hit with lots of shrapnel which was scraped after the war. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and he is the last on from Kentucky.

    Made it to the lodge this afternoon. Now we have all been summoned to the main building because of a tornado watch that may quickly develop into a warning, at which time we will all be moved to the basement shelter.
