... that threatened to have us sailing down the lake under full-kite..... A small trip today, just up to the top of Lake Garda (from the bottom) along amazingly picturesque roads that wound along the shore, even if it was quite hard work for the guy on the tiller who had to try to keep it off the retaining wall on the outside and away from the on-coming traffic on the inside. ......There were ......ummm.....quite a few screams, the odd expletive......actually, ...

We rode through the Adige River Valley between two massive dolomite mountain ranges carved by glaciers. Apples, pears, grapes also lined our journey. Both the vines and the trees were ladened to bursting with fruit. Pictures ...

It is a huge castle full of rooms with magnificent ceilings. The art was also interesting, as were the ceramic tile heaters. The Castle itself was huge and very high up. We very much enjoyed just walking around the city centre. It’s gorgeous, full of local people walking around. The central Duomo and piazza ...

We both woke up feeling fairly average and as the visibility was low decided to do the dreaded laundry. What a palaver! It cost about €20 when it should have been a lot less as the instructions were confusing. After a long search for the best gelato in Bolzano- which was closed we settled for an early lunch and vino. Feeling better we tackled the oldest cable car in the world (1908) on the other side of Bolzano. The views ...
