... so we stayed and had a meal
3/11 we hired a car for the day and phil, tom, richard, ingram and myself set off in glorious sunshine to drive around the island firstly up to Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain at 3719 mts, when got upto the plateau we reached the cloud line and the temperature dropped from 31C slowly down as we got to 2200mts, we got to the cable car but it was shut due to high winds and rain, so we continued to the north ...

... October) Form there a boat to Iquitos, and then Ecuador, maybe Galapagos Islands, and travel down through Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and stopping again in Sao Paulo for Christmas for about a week. After that take about two month (January and February) to go down thorugh Argentina to Usuahia, allways stopping in various places, and up through Chile to Santiago, where my next flight to New Zealand departs.

Obviously that's just a plan, and it will probably change ...

The need to leave the cold winds and wet weather in London saw me flying off to one of the smaller islands in the Canary Islands, Isla de La Palma. With an optimistic weather forecast of 24 degrees I was feeling very excited about my trip and I could not wait to touch down on this balmy island.
