Onwards and ever upwards

We are, of course, on the Route des Grandes Alpes. As a result, there are a number of cols (passes) that have to be, well, passed. So today, we did our best. In order, these were| Izouard 2360 metres Lauteret 2205 Galibier 2642 L'Iseran 2770 Cornet de Roselend 1968 So we spent much of our day negotiating multiple hairpin bends either going up, or the reverse. Not only with the gas, but also troubles with the fridge and 12V powerpoints. Baguette for lunch, set up the van with electricity and went for a walk. Cold and rainy this afternoon, but still able to wander through the town of Allemont. A nice quiet rest day ...

We hired (what turned out to be pretty inadequate! ie ******!!) mountain bikes from the bike shop in Bourg and headed up to Les 2 Alps in the van. Four bikes in there is a squeeze!! We tested the bikes on the cross country trails then bought two ...
