... Now having said that, we rode a BMW 1200RT around the US a couple of years back, and it was really good, and we took a Harley for a joy ride in Oxford before Christmas, and it was very impressive as well. I would own one in fact. PJ has threatened divorce if I buy one, which comes down to the final consideration above. We also took the new 1200GS Adventure for a test ride in Maidenhead, and it was a very special motorcycle, hugely expensive, and we didn’t ...
The big drive from Italy to France, we chose Carros thinking it was a central spot to visit Monaco, Venice, Cannes etc - a good idea whilst it lasted.
It's in an industrial area and there's nothing around except a McDonalds and a supermarket.

I have to ...
Day 294 5 hrs, 11.1 kms It's nighttime. The train crosses a long bridge across a gorge before reaching Cuneo on a plateau on the other side. I wander around the quiet streets, to the main plaza and back to the edge of town--but realize I'm going to have to hike all the way across the gorge bridge to find a secluded camping spot. Next morning there's a more cheery atmosphere. It's the first day of school and parents are taking their smartly dressed kids off to ...
