... to your cuban friend about eating alot of papaya.
I have planned out the next 3 months of my life( you think I'm exagerating, but I'm not). Basically it's non-stop bussing around on the weekends to some of the crazy destinations in Nica, but I'll give more details once I have actually been there.
As far as personal life in the house goes, its pretty relaxing. On my run this morning, I saw an eight year ...
So day two...
After a night of drinking 2 boxes-o-wine, Jackie, Suzanne and I all got up nice and early to go and see one of the volcanoes just outside of the city Grenada. So since we all arent quite accustomed to how much things cost, how long it takes to get places, etc., we were not the most efficient of travelers. First off, it took 2 hours to get to a city literally 20km away... at one point the driver was actually reading the newspaper waiting for ...
... get around the marina and I see this giant 2 story Party Boat. Sure, it was a Motorized catamaran...but not a Sail equipped Catamaran!!! At this point, what do you do....we got on the boat and thought we'd make the most of it. There was a nice Steel Band and the crew was nice enough, but that was where the good eneded. The sail over to Morne Rouge beach was crazy rough, especially if ...
Grenada, Grenada audaciousredDear Blog,
This morning, the Caribbean Princess made its way to beautiful GRENADA. We arrived at 12:00pm and had the luxury of sleeping in, of taking a relaxed breakfast plus having lunch on the ship before running to the disembarkation deck.
As the ship made its way to the port, my first impression of the island was the beauty of it. Beautiful emerald hillsides and tropical forests were opening up in front ...
A day at sea to travel the 500 or so nautical miles between Dominican Republic and Grenada. Up early for a lifeboat drill, then to the pool to sunbathe and read. Generally a lazy day on board. Hot and sunny - I am feeling the Christmas spirit with a hugely red Rudolph nose (sunburnt!...) Down to dinner on the ship (very nice), watched the Entertainment Team's show and 60's cabaret and then to bed. Grenada tomorrow.
At sea, Grenada katie.forsyth... a really nice not-so-cheap handbag - a crochet brown bag by The Sak. It is sooo my style :) Poolie is gonna go back and buy some sunglasses tomorrow.
We went to the Explorer's Lounge for a classical concert performance and there was a violinist, a pianist, and then a duo comprised of a violinist and a pianist. The first violinist played concertos that relied on a backing track, which unfortunately compromised his performance a bit. I also ...
... it's our turn for clean clothes, I load a bucket with fresh water (never salt water as it is nearly impossible to rinse out) and detergent. I stuff as many pieces as will properly soak and leave the lot overnight. In the morning, using another bucket, I go through each piece and scrub where needed before using more fresh water to rinse. It's great for the cuticles. It takes quite a bit of water this way and if we're not sure of how much we have left, we catch rainwater ...
Prickly Bay, Grenada questmillerWell - so far so good. I got through midterms -- and did quite well.. which is good since I have been studying plenty. Nothing really new to report. My day pretty much goes as follows: morning lab (histology, gross anat - dry or wet) followed by ...
St. George's, Grenada drconsul... fight there with a man being mean to a stray dog. He kept dragging it across the beach and threw it several times in the ocean, despite the dog whimpering loudly, being terrified. I told him off and expected trouble, since he was with a rather large crowd of locals. But they applauded me instead so I guess they didn't think he was being too nice to the dog either. And the guy left after a while. Although I never touched the dog, it must have ...
Grenada, Grenada psykokristin... of which had a thing for karren, who then decided that i was her husband. Fair enough i thought. After a terrifying car journey (my wife clinging to my arms for dear life) we arrived at bananas. I was held back a bit coz apparently shorts are a security risk, so i nearly didnt get in, but played the innocent tourist and got in. The cockney landed me with a smirnoff ice straight away, I didnt put up much resistance for free drinks. Apparently I was offering to ...
