They told me that this particular statue was special for women who wanted to get pregnant. I was about ready to run away until they told me that the statue is also meant to hear all of your prayers and that you could ask it anything. ... but that was a big fail. I saw a man wearing a shirt that said NEW YORK so I figured maybe he spoke English. Luckily he did, but he had no idea where I needed to go.
