Omar El Mokhtar Str. Tripoli, Libya, 00218, (+218.21)-3337512-
After 4 hours at the border, finally managed to make my way into Libya only to have some jerk go through the contents of my bag and then ask me for money for the pleasure! Libya is such a surprise. The people are so friendly and reserved (unlike Egypt!) and there is so much to see here. I first went to Tobruk and visited the war memorials there. It is so sad to see all the Aussie graves there - such ...
Tripoli, Libya biddy_travel... a red and gold colour theme, all the women were totally dressed up, think Oscars dresses but add a heap more sequence, glitter, lace and matching heavy makeup, they looked beautiful. The first part of the night was lots of singing and dancing to very loud Libyan music, the dancing being incredible hip shaking a bit like belly dancing but different. Late in the evening the Bride arrived ...
Tripoli, Libya aliainlibya... grasshoppers and chews on all the plants he recently put in) I offcourse said we should keep him because he is just so cute and needs a home. So I cleaned him up, took him to the vet and named him Sydney. And because to get him back to Oz will mean a 6 month stay in France for quarantine. :) He hangs out with me around the house and adores Lance for some reason - maybe because he actually crawls into his doghouse with him!.
Tripoli, Libya aliainlibyaMum and Dad came to visit in November last year for 2 weeks. We kept them busy with trips to Leptus Magna, Sabratha, markets and our kind Libyan friend organised a 2 day tour of the medina! We also had an unfortunate incident with the police, they thought dad was taking pictures of ...
Tripoli, Libya aliainlibya... try your hand at haggling for spices; and visit the museum, which has a fascinating collection of artefacts. Bollocks. Try this: walk round the outside of peoples houses, step in faeces and get stared at by kids; struggle your way through huge crowds of people trying to buy pants and cheap plastic electronics and get fleeced by a dodgy bloke whose opening gamit is "luvvy jubbly"; and trudge your way dutifully round roomfuls dusty ...
Tripoli, Libya charlesaclark... glow. Wonderful colours - the sea either purple/grey or turquoise with golden, almost orange sand was a spectacular backdrop to it all. First founded in 7th century BC by Punic refugees it came under Roman influence in 111 BC. There was a cruise ship in Tripoli and it's contents were at Leptis Magna - would have been nice without them but their blue and white umbrellas made them very visible and we managed to avoid them most of the time, having the place almost to ...
Tripoli, Libya suesy6652... alcohol! everyone gets high on sugar... not really my style but i gave it a go. At about 10.30 we were served macaroons and sweet camel milk that had a marzipan flavour which really helped get us in a party mood. There were about 250 ladies attending - no men at all and me the only blonde. There was a very noisy arabic singer, she was so loud my ears hurt and the water glasses vibrated. All the girls got up to do their shakira dancing and then got us up and stood around us clapping while we ...
Triploi, Libya aliainlibya... Well, it tastes like a prawn!" There are 2 prawns, one called Johnny and one called Christian. They're happy prawns, playing with their happy prawn friends. One day Johnny decides that he's bored, so he goes to see Cod. "Cod, I'm bored," says Johnny. "Please turn me into a great big shark!" So Cod waves his magic fin and turns Johnny into a shark. Johnny swims off and has a few fun weeks scaring all his little friends. But eventually they ...
Sounds Like..., Libya kempseymattressWe recently did a series of cultural seminars which ended in a historic tour of the Medina. This was very interesting and valuable getting an insight into Libyan life, culture and religion. Our teacher and guide were both excellent, one a lecturere at the university and our guide had ...
Triploi, Libya aliainlibya... Bon, d'accord! Les romains étaient forts. Mais tout ça, c'est dans ...
