Water line fix took until following Monday. Still needed it cleaned, exterior/interior protectant applied, paint touch up, etc. We started moving items from Max to 'what'shisnamegoingtobe" on Wed. with plans to be gone by Fri. Mid 90's, coaches were not setting side by side....nasty! Got TPMS antenna and air line for braking system on car moved over.
Stopped at Tallahassee Camping World to look at a new Itasca Ellipse. There are several upgrades to this model that would be nice. Negotiated a great deal, decided we should go ahead and do it. It's only $$, and we spend 5 months a year doing this. Techs found a leak in the water line going to the refrigerator, so we went to Big Oak RV Park on their recommendation. Not the best decision. It was ok, lots of permanents, roads narrow.
We spent a very fast paced 3 days with our grandsons. We took them for the day on Sunday and anyone that has ever kept 3 little boys, 8, 7 and 6, know that is a tiring:)
We took them back to the camper for lunch and over to see the light house on St. Marks. There is a little hiking trail that the boys enjoyed. Overall a great visit. Also our oldest just got a house and we helped by keeping the boys away so they could paint the day away.
... We hit the road after the Capital tour and headed to our first overnite, Falling Waters State Park. Recent rains had ditches full of water, we wondered how the campground must look like. Luckily for us, the campsite was high and dry, we hooked up all the utilities, put out the slides, turned on the air-conditioning..... and simply enjoyed our first quiet evening in the RV for this summer.
... looked nice. I came to the end of the road and found why this area was a national preserve. There was an old fort here. A fort that had stood here in various forms since before the civil war in the 1860s. This fort was held by the Union for the entirety of the war. The confederates did shell the fort from the opposite bank but to very little effect. They just left them there.
I looked around the fort for a while. Climbed on it's earthen works and then moved ...
