... meet a single unfriendly person.
But this state is boring, boring, boring. The skies are grey, the wind is cold, the roads are terrible, construction is abundant, and there are lots of sad, forgotten houses and towns that we have passed. I can't wait to leave. Someone invent teleportation already.
Okay, Michigan, you have 2 more chances to win me over... Detroit Suburbia and Kalamazoo... we'll see how you fair...
... they make all the arrangements. They stay with you throughout your trip to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
All of the hotels I stayed at in Argentina are hotels that I would recommend with the exception of the Lancaster which was in Uruguay anyway.
The long distance buses El Mendocino (mendoza to BsAs) got the job done as well. I have to look up the one we took to Iguazu but that was good too.
Lan is definitely the better ...
... will be delivered along with Bradley in the morning.
I'm hoping we'll be able to leave no later than 10:00am, but I won't bet on that. Not really sure how far we'll end up traveling, time will tell. Bradley wants to see the caves in KY, but we'll probably hit those on the way back.
Regarding this blog, I'm hoping Bradley will be the main author, and I will be his secretary who records his thoughts. We'll see how this goes...
... I can
still see that place in my mind but as I suspected it had been torn
down (or burned down) and replaced with something. I don't know
exactly where it was located so it is anyones guess as to its location
in respect to today's Flint. The downtown sort of looks modern and
prosperous but, the north side is horribly poor, delapidated and run
down. Day thought she was in some very poor country like she saw when
we went to Jamaica in 1980. We took Saginaw St all the ...
Bay city baby! We made it. The first 30 miles it was overcast which
was nice cuz I got a lil burnt yesterday. Then after Midland we hit
the farmland and it started raining. The rain wasn't too bad but the
wind was pretty strong. I threw on some rainy day music to help the
time pass. A lil Ray Lamontagne and then some Regina Spektor. It was
nice riding in the rain.
Now we are getting free food at some weekly bay front festival thing.
Yay free food!
... was very yummy. Maybe it was cause we were so hungry, or maybe it really was that good. We wandered around during the festival. Watched the glockenspiel. Danced the polka and chicken dance. And then decided that we were going to Bronner’s. Bronner’s is a HUGE Christmas store. Super huge. I don’t know how long we wandered, but I went from ...
Frankenmuth, Michigan, United States cheer4lvw... on what I am doing and where I am going (I'll do the best I can), so feel free to check in here now and then to keep up to date on my adventures. Currently, I am in MI, which is not too exciting, but the fact I am leaving so soon has just started to sink in. I have only one week left here, then I return home for a little over a week, and then I depart from the country. It is ...
Saginaw, Michigan, United States traveledJuly 15, 2008 Michigan, USA After 20 months of travel we have finally come home. We are exhausted but had a wonderful time. Thanks for following along. We hope to complete this blog later with some financial summary so you can see how much a trip like this actually costs. If you are interested in that sort of thing check back in a few months. In the meantime we're going to take a long nap.
Northern Michigan, Michigan, United States yoni... I'm also looking forward to getting to reconnect with mine, and with my dear mommy's. Can't imagine what could be more helpful than some heavy pints, long bus rides, open fields, and relaxed (read--organized by someone else) days. Hopefully I'll be able to write in here as we go along, (and I make more insightful or at least interesting observations! :) ) Irish countryside and free time should provide plenty of inspiration.
