    Saying Goodbye to New Friends

It was with much sadness that we had to leave Faschina today. Packing, breakfast, and paying bills was just depressing. A sunny morning, we would have rather been staying and going for another lovely walk. But they say all good things must come to an end, so sad as it was we packed the bags into the minivans, and headed off towards Feldkirch. There was one more place to visit however, a local monastery. The ...

... metre. Being our last night, Patrick and Maree met us at 6:00 in the "purple room" for a debrief of the trip. Everyone expressed their enjoyment of the ten days and their appreciation for Patrick's, Anja's and Maree's efforts. Patrick and Anja's then joined us for our final dinner, yet another culinary delight. It is really hard writing this knowing that tomorrow we will leave. The possibility of a Return to Eden, will make leaving just that bit more ...

... I had a wurstsalat. It was all delicious. We then took another track back to the creek then continued along the creek past rapids, pools and waterfalls. Spectacular stuff. We then continued to follow the river before joining a road that headed back to the cars. On the way we passed a a man milling timber logs into planks - it seems that he was a carpenter who built stairs, but he enjoyed milling his own timber. ...

Beautiful One Day, Spectacular the Next

... idyllic. Lunch over and we resumed our hike, luckily in a downhill direction. The last part was quite a steep descent along a narrow track that eventually lead to the main road, and more importantly our destination for the totally unnecessary cake and coffee, which we nonetheless enjoyed while Patrick and Anya caught the bus to where we had left the cars. It was probably the best cake we had had to date - apricot cake served with cream and ice cream. ...
