Our last stop has been Gatlinburg, TN. We enjoyed our visit to the Dixie Stampede and Dollywood. Jim looked all over the place, high and low but never saw Dolly! We ran into the Compton's from Lexington who happened to be here too. We enjoyed having dinner together with Ben, Suzanne, Charlie and Nancy. It was nice to have friends to enjoy a meal with again.

It will be wonderful to be back in South Carolina even though there will be lots of changes from ...

A long day of travel but I made it! Knoxville through Chicago to Newark. I waited about an hour for Claudia to arrive but then we scouted about the airport and shared a pizza for dinner. Oh my, what a shock! But let me begin at the beginning When we left Chattanooga, we high tailed it for the Cherohala Skyway. Weather report had suggested there would be bad weather in the afternoon so we tried to beat the weather. Unfortunately it didn't quite work out that way and we didn't get up onto the Skyway before the rain - lots of it came through. What a bummer. We couldn't see the scenery at all and riding ninths driving rain ...

... than I did reading about all the other fabulous places in Spain we would actually visit. Monsignor Al was along on the trip and had hiked the "Way of St James" and shared some great stories of his time on the trail. Now I was even more interested. Then we visited O'Cebreiro during a torrential downpour. I remember during mass in this quaint little church thinking~ I AM coming back here AND I'm hiking the Camino! We also visited the Cathedral ...
