... to do that another day! ) From the movie (and the website), we learned, to our surprise, that this is the most visited National Park (although we question how they know that, as this is the only one we've ever been to that does not have an entry gate or an entry fee!) With the highway running through the park, I guess they figure every car that comes down 441 South is a "visitor to the park"! The smoky-looking fog that always hangs over ...
Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, United States pykesonthego... Park area.

We arrived at our campground, (a small park right on Walden Creek that managed to squeeze a lot of RV's into very little space), at 1:15. We were horrified, when we turned off of I-40 to head into Pigeon Forge, to see traffic at a standstill as far as we could see. Pigeon Forge (Home of Dollywood) and Gatlinburg have become huge tourist attractions, with miles and miles of T-Shirt Shops, Ripley's Believe it ...
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States pykesonthego... heading back to the hotel and when we come out it is again pouring.

I am tempted to drive past my old apartment but I’m really hurting so instead just drive back to the hotel. I realize that I have left my PJs at the other hotel. L I call them and they have them so I tell them I’ll be back down on Monday and they say they will hold them for me. I take some Tylenol and lay down ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States psubrat93Hi, everyone,
Just want to say that the Riverstone Lodge in Townsend, Tn. is by far the very best place to stay in The Smoky Mountains. It is the closest Hotel / Lodge to Cades Cove which is just unbeleivable with its mountain views and all the wildlife (deer, black bear, wild turkeys ect...) also well maintained original cabins & churches from the1800's are spread out across the 11 mile journey. Mountains all around you. AHHH. The ...
Townsend, Tennessee, United States smokeymountainsYesterday was a pretty relaxed day of driving, minus the extreme sticky southern heat. This stuff the horribly disgusting!!!!! We only made a few stops, one was to get our normal beer and glass, we tried to get one at a few places in Nashville but we struck out a lot. So we stopped in Knoxville and we finally got one. After that our mission was complete. We got back on the road and headed to our destination Pigeon Forge, home of ...
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States nicandjessicaOK, so we decided to take the resort up on their 'come hear our time share spiel & we'll give you a gift'. They promised an hour. I know better than to do these things, but still, I did it. Guess enough time had passed since the last time I did this & I'd forgotten how much I hate it. So we go, listen to how they don't sell time shares anymore they sell these, well, time shares, really ...
Gatlinburg, Tennessee, United States bonnieb805... br>Monday 27 - Breakfast with 75+ couple who'd just driven from Palm Beach florida to Pigeon Forge in one day. Got on the road to Nashville and passed through into Central Time. Stopped off at Cookeville for Starbucks and then went to Burgess Falls State Park. 3 lovely waterfalls. Lay by the rapids a while ...
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States mumnjulieHome. I am back, as of about 11pm last night. Jet lag is unfortunately dulling my usual sharp wit, however, I will try to cohesively narrate my journey home. It began at 730AM London Time when we woke, finished packing, and hopped on a coach bus to Gatwick Airport. From there, we hopped a 10 hour flight back to Hotlanta. Longest 10 hours of my life. At roughly 6 PM Knoxville time (11pm London time), we landed ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States adrienner... so I'm pretty sure their cop friend won't get found out by his wife or his job. Soon after the story we went to eat at the local grease pit, got some beers and headed back to the frat house. 2Live Crew was performing that evening, but only the Chinese looking member of the group was there. That's about how much I remember from Knoxville. I think I dropped some CDs off at the local radio station, but I can't be totally sure. Wouldn't of done much good.
