... went in to help we couldn't fit. So Karo and Anna stayed in the kitchen and Lara and Christian stayed with us to talk. Their friend Matheus also joined us for dinner as well. They made 2 pizza's and we ate all of it and had drinks till it was late. We then continued drinking in our room because Lara had to sleep. When the drinks were finished, we went to sleep. Christian and Mattheus continued drinking after they went to the bottle shop and then slept. Great ...
Guten Morgan Dad! So I woke and thank goodness I have a think when I drink to shower before bed. I didn't have to shower this morning. I was a little sleepy but more hungry than sleepy. Anna was in kitchen preparing breakfast. We were having pancakes! Yay. Food always brings me happiness. Karo and her shared roles in cooking the pancakes. I helped with Nadzha set up our room so we could eat in there. We had pancakes with all ...

He came to put it in the fridge. Nadzha by this time had just woken up so said that she'll be ready in an hour. That worked well for Simon so he returned to his room and waited till we were done. While we were getting ready, the lady (who had booked the room for the evening) returned again to double ...
Today we decided to go to Cologne. As per the directions from the owner of the hotel we got to the station in time for the 9.49am train to Duren only to find out that it did not come until 10.09am. Cute little train only two carriages and so clean! At Duren we had to change trains for Koln. Arriving at Koln we walked out of the station smack bang into the cathedral. It was huge and I was disappointed that the outside was black ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Grand City Hotel Koln Cologne
Great location and great view!!
What can I say, I got a room with majestic Dom view from my window and balcony. The room is big enough, very clean,
I saw the hotel immediately after walking out from Koln hbf, and the Dom is just at the other side of the train station.
This was the best hotel I lived throughout my 1 wk trip to Europe.... of course, it's price is a bit at high side for such a great location and standard.
I visited Cologne in late January with my boyfriend for a business/leisure trip. We were attending a trade fair at the exhibition centre combined with some sightseeing.
Nice hotel, good value
This is possibly the most convenient hotel to Koeln Hauptbahnof (central rail station, aka: hbf). I had a small but clean and crisp room with wi-fi access. The old town of Koeln is with its restaurants, shopping, museums, and performance halls is a very short walk away. The hbf has a pharmacy, many places for a quick snack or drink, and a grocery store that's open until 23:00 (I think - it's open quite late at any rate). I found it to be a useful shopping center for travelers.
My room rate included a nice breakfast.
If you're looking for luxury very close to the hbf or the old town I'd suggest the Dom Hotel. But if you're looking for a hotel in the same area that while not swanky is very nice then this is the place.
My wife and I recently (16-18 Dec) stayed at the Four Points Hotel and found it to be a good hotel in a great location. The purpose of our trip was to sample the many Christmas Markets and enjoy the sights and beer halls of Cologne. We chose the hotel based on its location, as it is directly opposite the main train station. It is also close to the Dom and the attached Christmas Market, and within walking distance to the Alter Markt.
Great hotel, Great location
A great hotel, as always, Sheraton quality, at a great location in Cologne. It's across the street from the Main train station, so it's ideal if you arrive, tired on a train, or have an early train to catch. My biggest regret was that our train left as breakfast was starting, so we didn't have an opportunity to try it.
The staff was friendly, and spoke excellent English.
Not much else to say, top of the line all around!
I stayed here when I visited Cologne with my partner in May.....I was pleasantly surprised on arrival to discover we had been upgraded to a suite.
If you travel by train, this is your hotel. Though immediately across the street from the train station, soundproofing gives you a quiet room.
We stayed here a couple of nights during the Xmas markets in December. The room was like a suite to the rich & famous, don't think it was what we had booked, it seemed like an upgrade. We've never stayed in a hotel in such luxury, tvs both bedrooms, exercise bike, fitted kitchen, huge rooms etc, etc. We're touring Germany in July 2005 and making a point of staying 1 night here. Breakfast was self service, and plenty of it, hot & cold. Drinks at the bar slightly more expensive that locally, but not unusual for a hotel. Only downside was the temperature outside. It felt like -10 centigrade, far too cold to walk about, a pity because we would have liked to explore the city for 1 day. Would highly recommend this hotel. It's also right next to the train station, 50yrds, and 100 yards to the famous Cologne cathedral.
Stayed here for 1 night on the 10th of august 2004. This is a very nice hotel with spacious, clean rooms. The hotel is located right behind the main train station and just a few minutes walk from downtown. The breakfast is exactly what you expect from a breakfast buffet in a 4 star hotel. Only the diner menu doesn't offer to much variety, but who cares when you are just a few steps away from the nice terraces overlooking the rhine-river. I can honestly recommend this hotel to everybody, no matter if you're staying here for business or pleasure.
