... car (some great steaks!) and met some nice people too. I didn't catch their names but one lady had travelled all over Europe and had lots of interesting stories. And the guy we sat with for dinner had lived in San Francisco most of his life, and was travelling to Detroit to see an opera! He was also a big train lover (I imagine he would have gotten on well with Nick!) We are now going to try and settle in for the night. Eye masks and ear plug time - wish us luck! ...

I continue on up the road... taking a detour through the village of Pleasant View past the house my parents lived in for a year. I didn't live with them at that time, but I do have memories of visiting this place... Then on through the backroads until ...

... I wonder... what exactly does this school offer that "better prepares" the students for success in life? Is it the special connections, perhaps? The prestige of a Mercersburg Academy diploma?

I may be wrong, but somehow this feels like a relic of another era... The Academy's mission does strike me as a bit ironic: "Mercersburg Academy prepares young men and women from diverse backgrounds for life in the global community" I mean, for this objective, wouldn't in be ...
