We departed Ohio today and headed for the 10th state on our summer vacation road trip: The Bluegrass state of Kentucky.
Before leaving Cincinnati we had breakfast at an interesting restaurant called Sugar n' Spce which had a kid-fun theme as you can see in my pictures. Along with cartoon characters painted on the wall were rows of small rubber ducks. ... is like a beef stew. It was so good. I had a BBQ beef brisket sandwich which was also delish. The meat and sauce was perfect. Elizabeth had a yummy Caesar salad and the boys had the Louisville Hotbrown. It was sliced turkey on toasted bread, topped with bacon, tomatoes and parm. Yummy cheesy delish. It is a limited menu but gooood.

... side the Blue River though. The hike down on the Blue River was so swampy and muddy that it drained us completely. The trail had an impressive amount of wildlife, but that may be due to the lack of people using it. The 2 hour ride home was tough as well.
Great park and I want to try and go do it all again.

... We had to hike through thorn bushes and over grown shrubs often. The trail needed to be blazed again. The elevation change was consistently up and down the entire day. A pretty tough day of hiking because of the distance, mud, and change in elevation, but not very technical or pretty of a hike.
Day 1 stats: 18.33 miles, 42,316 steps (new record), ~3,323 calories burned, and 307 floors climbed (new record).
