I had my usual slow start to the day and managed to crawl out of bed at about 11. I walked around the town for a while, doing some window shopping and having a look at my surroundings. The day was passing without too much going on so I decided to head for the motel. Once I made it there, I did my usual bit of business and got all the details that I needed. The nice girl behind the counter handed me some paperwork and I was careful to keep ...
Madison, Georgia, United States holliday... It was perfect! I am always on the lookout for a park where I can invite friends and family to come visit us during our RV lifestyle. This park does the trick. There is every style of camping including fabulous cabins! Great facilities for groups that want to get together and play and eat and talk. Not to mention a masters level golf course!! All this only 45 minutes from the Atlanta airport!!

Off to San Francisco and beyond!!
Rutledge, Georgia, United States jodieandandyI wanted to spend more time in Athens, but because of all the problems going on, plans kind of got extremely disorganized and we went to Athens on a whim.

We basically ended up in a bar and grabbed dinner at The Grit (famous for vegetarian cuisine), while briefly cruising around town.

I felt sad and sentimental that I didn't get to tour it more, but then again I felt relief; I have another university to call my own, for I am also a NYU graduate. ;)
Athens, Georgia, United States erinkovalHey y'all,

I tried to email everyone the pictures of my condo but AOL doesn't have enough storage space for the amount of pictures I took, so here they are!

In other news, I've applied to a few jobs and realized (again) that looking for a ...
Athens, Georgia, United States ashleyfrances... the whole way back. We even coordinated our stops very well. We were back in Atlanta at 5 pm - but luckily not too much traffic. We stopped at the new Barrow Publix for some dinner and milk. The kids got to play with the neighbors while we unloaded the car.

Whew!
Bogart, Georgia, United States jspringePicked up car from Atlanta airport on 15th April and drove around the outskirts of Atlanta during rush hour. It took about an hour to get to Athens. We explored the town, after Julie had her one and only driving on the wrong side of the road experience of the trip! Locals were laughing!

We went to a Belgian restaurant for soup and beer in the Athens downtown that looked like it hadn't changed much since the 1950s.

On the 16th April we visited the Georgia ...

Athens, Georgia, United States betuca... and the campus frat scene. It was a great night - I was definately surprised at how many people I knew whereever I went, both from Vandy and from Charlotte.

Athens is the perfect college town (other than Chapel Hill of course, I am a North Carolinian after all), but I had such a good time in Athens, with its lively bar scene, quaint downtown (we went to a cute olde diner), and big-state-school atmosphere.
Athens, Georgia, United States lar4290... guys and gals from the university that makes its home here. Downtown was much like our own new towns in England, but the weather was far better and that meant we could have a pleasant look around. Feeling knackered (a word the Americans can't seem to get the hang of!) we turned in for the night, emptying our haul of food into our room before we took our places on our bed to spend a profitable evening doing what many Americans do... namely watching TV and eating food in bed!!
