Last day at Cutthyhunk and heading for home

A travel blog entry by nt34simone on Jul 10, 2015

We woke this morning to winds blowing at 17 kts in the harbor with light rain. By 8 AM it calmed and the rain stopped in time for us to go ashore and have breakfast at the Cuttyhunk Fisherman Club. We were joined by our Wickford Point neighbors and the Sanfords on Black Jack. This is a fantastic local inn where the food is very good. So ...

We didn't sleep well last night due to the rough conditions in Nantucket Harbor, winds blowing 15 kts. So, here we are still, one of the only boats that are still in the water at the marina. I'm going to be honest, since Mom left it has not been an easy five weeks... In actual facts, the days have been harder, everyday is a challenge. Yes, challenges make us stronger and I will be able to take a lot with me after these times, and I should be grateful for this experience, and there are much worse things in life, and I must remain positive and happy and ...

    Changes...

A lot has changed in the past few of weeks. Andy and I were on the boat alone for two weeks. We got the boat ready for the next visit from the owner and tried to keep ourselves busy with mundane things. The boredom truly does get to a person, especially when your work day is done at 5... So we drink haha. We had a few interesting tequila nights on the boat and at Melville Grille.

I went to Newport one weekend ...
