... 3 or 4 choices for what you would like to eat. Carol, Cian and myself chose a couple of different ones and shared to sample as many different flavours as we could. All I can say was though it was a pain in the wallet, the belly and tastebuds were more than satisfied!!

... the Observatory, Dad further observed that the kids had great energy in exploring the meridian line, some aspects of the Observatory, Greenwich mean time clock, whilst he sat on bench claiming that 'he had been here before'. Actually it was a chance to catch breath.
Thames Tour Part II
After a brisk walk down to the ferry pier, 'the village' (we five family members) were reunited and we set off at a brisk pace down a tunnel to the DLR (District Light Rail) train ...
... in Vegas. Was on guest list but was way too busy as we got their late. Gave up trying to get in. Found $100 on the floor. Went back to room and got in the Jacuzzi to celebrate. Got up next day and went swimming in the Garden of the Gods pools then explored the strip. Went to the Bellagio. Watched the fountains. Played 25 cents on the top dollar slot machine. Won $200. Drank free alcohol, tipped a dollar a time. High as kites on Malibu cokes and mojitos we went shopping at Abercrombie ...
London, England, United Kingdom mikeanddonz... Priory. From 1258 until the Reformation in 1544 nuns of this convent resided there. There was a completely preserved priory kitchen dating back to that time. There was also large collections of weapons...tons of medieval spears and armor as well as a variety of guns over the years. The old medieval city wall circles the city and you can go up and walk along it. It was a really cool walk. It was a narrow covered path where you could see ...

good for a chat. Plus he kept buying TSJ’s drinks.
The Irish
fellow did know of ONE place that was still open, a casino of course,
but it had a 10 euro cover charge and TSJ’s just could not afford it.
“Don Che worry ‘bout tat”, said the Irish boxer, “I’ll pay fer yas”. We
felt pretty guilty as we allowed this Irish fellow to pay for our

... falsely accused physician who was thrown in a jail cell with a bunch of starving prisoners. Well, they ripped him limb from limb (alive) and ate him. From the puddle of blood and mass of bones arose a black dog with a head of snakes, and eyes of fiery coals, supposed to be " the spirit of melancholy " (what we call " depression "). Around the area of the prison you can still see the red eyes, and ...
London, England, United Kingdom mshulist... Castle, was the first part put up by William the Conquerer after his victory in 1066. So it's pretty old! I love old stuff. Walking across the bridge, over the now-dry moat - so wide and deep, you can imagine it being quite a deterrent to storming the castle. I love all that knights and soldiers and castles stuff! We walked past Traitors' Gate, where high-profile prisoners would be brought by boat in the cover of darkness, into the Bloody Tower, so-named for the supposed ...
London, England, United Kingdom couplakiwis... property in Baker Street. In the period during which the Sherlock Holmes stories are set, street numbers in Baker Street only went up to No 100, which was presumably why Conan Doyle chose the fictional number. When street numbers were re-allocated in the 1930s, the block of odd numbers from 219 to 229 was assigned to a building known as Abbey House, constructed in 1932 for the Abbey Road Building Society. Almost immediately, the building society started receiving ...
London, United Kingdom the_wayfarerTravelling is a curious thing. Just when you think you can't possibly take any more, due to sheer exhaustion, you arrive somewhere new and spring into action, ready for the next challenge. This was exactly what happened when I arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, extremely bleary-eyed and in need of a serious detox. As I stood at the luggage carosouel (and I had a good hour of that!), I thought about my crazy ordeal getting to London and my time in ...
London, United Kingdom vdevai... security checkpoint, a "Transfer Specialist"--at least that what was written on the back of her vest--refused to help us with the snide remark, "I have to take care of all this security." Jostling, pushing, running with my shoes on my arm Kevin and I managed to get through the "invitation only" security check sprint about a mile to a remote terminal in the airport for another security check. Looking at our watches, the plane to Frankfurt was supposed to leave by that ...
