Day 3 – Sunday 19th August
This was probably my most memorable day of the trip. We went to the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon which was around 65km from where we were staying just off Road 1. You can't miss it. I’d planned some time for this place because I had heard it was spectacular and had seen the photos. But you …

I was the only guest in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent.
The bedroom was comfortable. I thought the bathroom was a bit too small.
During the night my toes felt cold. Was the room heating turned down at night? All I know is that at other accommodation in Iceland I would often feel too hot at night.
I did not like having to pay for internet access. I was used to free wifi at even small guesthouses.
