Bath baby!

... to find that we couldn't get in because their fancy electronic key system was down. Happily, one of the hostel staff members was a really nice Aussie guy and he recommended a great Mexican/Spanish restaurant to us, so we headed there while they got their system up again. The food was great, though we did have to wait for twenty minutes for a table. Bath was absolutely jumping last weekend! I wanted to go to Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant, which is in ...

Time To Take A Bath!

11.20.09/11.21.09 Time To Take [A] Bath!

After a month of heavy traveling, it is good to be in England! No fuss over the language – traffic flow that we can respect – and familiar comfort foods (yesterday after our doctor's appointment, we had shepherd’s pie, chili, and even nachos!)! Almost like coming "home" for a few days – but with a British twist (e.g., Yorkshire pudding, double-decker buses, delicious teas, and towns like Freshford ...

UPDATE

Well 7 weeks to GO!!!!

June is still busy buying clothes can't keep her out the shops. We are busy trying to set up all the systems we need in place and staff what they need to do in our absence.

Great finding so many people interested in what we will be doing and where we are travelling to.

Just want to get Junes problem sorted at the hospital they are messing us about. Got heavy with them today.

Watch out for the next update.

The Adventure Begins Again!

... and then going back to bed (tis alright for some). So after a spot of breakfast Dawn took me to the airport and my adventures begun.
In the airport I found my way to the baggage check-in, and guess what? I was the only one there. So I obviously could have stayed another half hour in bed, but the good think was that there was long line to wait in. Once my suitcase was gone I had to head off for customs. Here practically every thing has to come off including your belt and shoes, and put ...

November in Trowbridge

I think I ended up back in Trowbridge at the best time of the year... lol What with Halloween and Guy Fawkes night!!

I was a little exhausted when I got back. I think I was happy to be somewhere where I didn't have to literally live out of my suitcase!

While I was back, I opened a bank account and also applied for my national insurance number so I can work in the UK. It was a fairly short process because I have a British passport! I've applied ...

A quick pit-stop

... we enjoyed catching up with Teresa (godmother) anyway. After morning tea we showed her how to use skype on her laptop – calling Cesca’s parents much to Teresa’s amazement at the technology. She presented us with a blender as a late wedding present, amazingly they still had the receipt from Dec 2006 although it was a bit tattered and yellow. The choice of present was a bit of a family ...

Stonehenge to Bath to London

... was trying to avoid him by taking a picture really quick with the statue but he was quicker than I was! After my picture was taken with him, he started talking to us about heavy metal, and he was actually kind of funny...but I never ended up being able to take my picture with the lovely Ms. Austen.

We then caught our bus back to London and went to bed right away as we had to be up by 3:15am to get ready to catch a flight to Berlin.

Wales to Bath

... these huge electronic and steel contraptions with rubberized buttons. add that to the different keyboard setup here in the UK and I think I wasted half my time correction massive typos. Finally just said 'bugger off'. Had a dinner of cheese and bread, along with some cider. went upstairs to the outdoor section and listened to this half mad australian ramble on about how he wanted to go out and threaten night ...

Stonehenge

I end up on a bus with 25 women from Vietnam. The trip is somewhat taxing and suddenly it turns out that my motion sickness is back. I get some pill from one of the passengers, and by the time we reach Stonehenge I begin to feel alive again.

Stonehenge is this pile of megalitic rocks brought from Wales by the Celts, although it's just one of the countless theories about this place. It is located on a vast plain in the middle of ...
