Bath baby!

Hi!

So with only a week and a half to go, I have, of course, managed to contract a cold. Grrrr. I think I can probably blame my weekend in Bath for that, as it was absolutely freezing there. It actually made me appreciate the "mild" weather that Norwich enjoys (comparatively speaking). The thing is, I don't want to blame Bath, because it is such a lovely city!

I headed there on Friday afternoon and met up with mt friend Teresa. We got to our ...

Time To Take A Bath!

... TWO WHOLE WEEKS, and I can’t wait! I haven’t been to Italy since I was a teenager, and Murray has never been there! It will be fantastic to visit Italy together – and I am dubbing this part of the trip the honeymoon we never had (due to that pesky house fire after our wedding!).

Thank you, England, for a few much-needed days of rest and relaxation. And THANK YOU, Wright and Glassock families, for your friendship, generosity, and hospitality!!!

UPDATE

Well 7 weeks to GO!!!!

June is still busy buying clothes can't keep her out the shops. We are busy trying to set up all the systems we need in place and staff what they need to do in our absence.

Great finding so many people interested in what we will be doing and where we are travelling to.

Just want to get Junes problem sorted at the hospital they are messing us about. Got heavy with them today.

Watch out for the next update.

The Adventure Begins Again!

... She really is a star (as in friend and not movie star) and I have to say is my most reliable friend over in the USA.
Anyway, last night I stayed over at my dear friend Dawn's house, since she was taking me to the airport early this morning. (I slept on the sofa cushions on the living room floor in case you ask). The flight was at 6:45am, and I had to be at Bristol airport for 5am (who travels that early?). So I was up at 4am. Dawn stayed in her pj's since she was only dropping me ...

November in Trowbridge

... old guy.. Mr Scrooge I think his name was. One place had gone all out, with a spooky entrance and a grave in the front yard. The kids had great fun, lots of lollies. One poor kid got to running around and tripped over on the road.. lollies and body parts everywhere!!

Guy Fawkes night was a good night.. cold though. The school put on a fireworks display and fireworks went off all over the town, that night, the weekend before and for about 3 days after!! lol

A quick pit-stop

Wednesday 12th August – Chippenham

Setting off from Clare and Alex’s early in the morning we soon negotiated our way across to Chippenham with the aid of the newly charged Iphone. We were here to visit Cesca’s godparents for the morning as a detour on our way back up to Yorkshire. Unfortunately, due to our late arrangements, Charles (Cesca’s godfather), had to go to work ...

Stonehenge to Bath to London

... there. I really wanted to go to the Jane Austen house/museum, but they only offered tours and our schedule didn't work with theirs. Instead, I went to get my picture taken with the Jane Austen statue in front of the museum, but this guy dressed up in period clothing, I guess trying to be Mr. Darcy from Pride & Prejudice, or some other man from one of Jane Austen's books, snatched my arm up and made me take a picture with him. I ...

Wales to Bath

Hola mis amigos! oops, sorry 'bout that. I'm in Bath, it is beautiful. The only drawback is no ac in the hostel. Oh well, the price to pay for cheap accomodations... Here is a general breakdown of my travels/experiences, from late last night to this afternoon. Last night at the backpackers in Cardiff, I did not do much except update and catch up on email. Their computer setup is something else, with the keyboards ...

Stonehenge

... bus takes me from Stonehenge to Bath, a Georgian city situated very close to the border with Wales. I am fascinated by its cobbled streets, grey stone houses, cute bridges and an interesting cathedral. Most of the time, however, I spend in the Roman Baths, which are so huge that after a few hours I get bored and only think of getting out of here. The Roman Baths are, well, baths used by the Romans, and the water inside is STILL WARM.
