... his dad from Denmark, and Jason and Tony from London. We floated through massive underwater caves and fissures on the North American side of the ridge. The weather above was **** again but underwater visibility was 200m and Ive never seen clearer waters, not in Australia nor the Red Sea. It really was breathtaking. The water was 2' C which also made it breathtaking. heh We were decked out in dry suits though, so I wore 2 layers underneath so my body ...

Water going up, water going down...

... can snorkel in year-round, though the temperatures in the low thirties didn't exactly make me want to throw on my bathing suit. We settled instead for exploring the grounds--we had the place entirely to ourselves for the first hour or so (landing at 6 in the morning has its benefits afterall). The scenery was indescribably beautiful, and ...

Flounders and Fishermen

... yet described the incredible numbers of Icelandic horses, but I will.  Anyway, the hotel was extra comfortable and pleasant.
The next morning we drove the short distance down to some of the coastal fishing villages.  It was Sunday morning and everyone was sleeping in.  The only person we saw was the local guy out with his friendly labrador retriever emptying the town trash bins in the public areas.  In a little park area at the foot of the seawall was this ...

To Thingvellier and Beyond: Part One

... to divine the correct path and off we went. (Yes, I know I'm taking all the credit.)
Day two was all about the "Golden Circle" which is the number one day-trip out of Reykjavik.  It manages to squeeze  an entire national park, the 4th largest geyser in the world and a magnificent waterfall plus gift shops and restaurants into one marathon tour.

For us we enjoyed getting to the first of many hundreds of excellent informational pull-outs on the road to ...

Blue Lagoon

... Supposedly, it has silica and other minerals that are sure to cure any ailment. It's a fantastic set-up. Very efficient and orderly, and oh so soothing to our weary bones. And, they have beer!
I happen to love this country, but methinks my wife is ready to move on to a warmer clime.

The Great Geysir!!

... One was the most beautiful powder blue, I could not even believe it was water. I took a few photos of these but it's hard to tell if my camera is working. My digital ran out of batteries so I am using an old fashioned Canon. I have a feeling a lot of things with this film could go wrong.
Another beautiful sight of our day was the Lang...something rocks and caves. There is a story that these caves are haunted by elves. These little spirits ...

Past month in Iceland !!!

... Our tools, horse, manure, meat meal, seeds, clipping grass and all kind of stinky stuff. Believe it or not after a while you start to enjoy the fact of working with this kind of materials... Ohh, except meat meal !!! During such a period of time, I had the chance to get to know tons of new people, visit some amazing spot, work hard and enjoy a lot.. The photos will tell you a lot more than my text. Enjoy

Iceland expensive? Its all relative

... we figured that Iceland wouldn't seem that expensive. For instance, instead of paying ten dollars for a beer we thought that we would be paying eleven dollars. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we found that most food products and drinks were cheaper in Iceland than in Norway. The taxes in Iceland aren't as high so some most of the products cost slightly less than in Norway. However, taxis are not cheap! We took a taxi from ...
