... highest rated hostel, The Shiva garden, the photos looked good and it said a few good things about it on TA, so I booked 3 days there
I got the hotel to print out my e ticket and hostel forms, so everything was done, it was just a case of killing time until my flight in a day or so, I had arranged a taxi to take me to the airport, so rather than wander the streets in blazing sunshine and temperatures of 40C + I stayed in my room, watching films on the laptop, listening ...

... to share the paradise with her after all the years of work she's put towards me but right now I'm broke so she'll jut have to deal for the time being.. The one thing I've learnt over our stay in varkala is that India does have many sides and I don't mind dealing with the crowded buses and urine-smelling streets of busy cities when I know I can spend time in places like this. (But don't hold it against me when I start complaining again...) Next stop allepey to meet Laura and Hayley again ...
... rough. The lifeguard seemed a bit concerned about everyone because only 3 out of 10 lifeguards showed up for work today because of the general strike. He tried to get us to bring him some lunch because he had to stay until sunset with no break.
When we got back to o,ur hotel, our lock had to be chiseled off, and we were chiseled on the price of a new lock (no spare key??)
