Hi everyone today we dr0ve to Ancona to catch the ferry to Croatia. On the way we stopped at a typical Italian beach covered in deck chairs and umbrellas. We chose a place for lunch and set up on the deck chairs for a while on the beach. There are so many chairs that unless you are in the front row you cant actually gaze at the beach you just look at the back of other peoples deck chairs. Also because you are all so close together its a bit ...

    ... city.

Had Wild Boar for dinner last night at Ristorante Mario, village Chianti and tiramasu.

Today was spent sightseeing, found the track and sorted out where we would park as traffic will be insane, especially this year with Rossi leading the points. It's a sea of Yellow at the front gate with all the vendors

Early starts for us this weekend but excited to see the track and experience Motogp Italian style.

Big day today, we went on a 2 hour tour of the old town. Walls and Wars of Dubrovnik. Fascinating, I think the boys enjoyed it as well, especially as our guide, Marija, told lots of stories, one that comes to mind is, during the war in 1991, when they woke up one morning, their father found a grenade by the front door, it was a dud, did not go off, so he picked it up and threw it away, says they were lucky, would of blown ...

... And what a day we had! We had pizza and gelato while watching locals run along the beach in Speedos! If that doesn't say fun, I don't know what does!

We left San Benedetto at three o'clock. Our drive to Ancona was uneventful, and unlike our ferry experiences in Thailand, there was no chaos to fight with when getting on board. In fact, I think we may have been four of the maybe thirty people on board. The ship was empty. Our room was ...

... online for 50 pounds. Yikes! We figured we may as well enjoy the meal, and there were a few jokes about $20 glasses of wine throughout the meal. Imagine our surprise when the bill came and it was only 40 euros in total! It was up there as one of the best meals we've ever had and dirt cheap.

We headed home a little drunk, and very happy, stopping for gelati on the way home again. Our favourite flavour has been cioccolato nero (dark chocolate) which is incredibly rich and delicious.
