Last day!
Not a good day weatherwise!! Very grey and lots of rain.
D, B and I walked to town to purchase some fridge magnets for Chris and the girls. Had to take refuge in a coffee shop when the heavens opened and have a drink. On the way back I bought a handbag and had to stay in the ...
Portugal, last summer holiday!
Portugal – a beautiful place that isn't known to a lot of people but after seeing it for ourselves it should be definitely something to be seen by anyone interested in beaches, cliffs and relaxing. Our trip didn’t start off the best sadly with us missing our bus to the airport that we’d already paid for by a few minutes and having to shout out another £25 each to get a train there instead and just to add a cherry on top of ...
30 agosto Faro-Porto
30 agosto
Noi comunque siamo in regola.

Loved Forte Da Oura
Just back from a week staying at the Forte Da Oura. Had a wonderful time, hotel was very nice only downside was that the beds were a bit uncomfortable. Very handy for The Strip and a visit to the Old Town is worth while. Also visited Zoomarine which was really good and went on a Jeep Safari and Cruise. The cruise in the afternoon was a bit long but the Safari was excellent. A great place to eat out was The Sizzling Stone whcih has the best steaks ever! Geordie Pride has good roasts on a Wednesday and Sunday. The snack bar at the hotel was basic but good. We found that you had to be up pretty early to get your towels on the sunbeds but it was a great holiday and we have booked to go back next year!
Brilliant
i loved albuferia, and the hotel was great .food is best ive tasted anywhere in europe even
better than my wifes. People so friendly, love too help out whenever you are unsure as too where you are going . Slide&splash is the bast ive experienced what a great day out
bars and restaurants aplenty you will have the holiday of a lifetime take plenty euros as you will want to stay see you next year
Excellent hotel and location!!
I stopped at the forte da oura from the 15th of june till the 29th!! brilliant there is building work out back but i was lucky enough have a pool view but to be honest ya not on ya balcony that much. The rooms are lovely very very clean loadsa space i was very impressed. The lobby is where the bar is so if ya fussy bout noise you will hear some till the bar closes if there has been an act on! but i was told this buy other guests never heard any thing myself.the bar and restaurant is run by a lovely couple and they really make it feel like a local santos and paulo behind the bar are lovely and paulo's wife works in the restaurant. the hotel is 5 mins walk to the beach and 5 mins walk to the nightlife on the strip or ya can go out round the corner 2 secs away. the pool is lovely it is smaller than next door but it is apt it has a playground for children to.try mary annes on the new strip for food good english meals and if 2 paying adults kids eat free. also asian dreams at the top of the strip does a good all you can eat chinese buffet theres so many places i could recommend but more fun if ya explore....i will definetley stop at the forte da oura again
Forte de oura
Just returned not a bad hotel but make sure your at the front there is building work at the rear of the hotel not to mention the cockrill at six in the morning. We managed to get moved after complaining to the front of the hotel. The bar staff are very friendly but the lady on reception could do with a lesson in manners, pool was ok but use the one next door its bigger and better.
Building work
Be aware a large building site is under construction to the rear of these appts. If you get a front location o.k but the rear is ugly and noisy and dusty
Great place nice and relaxing
we have just got back and what a nice hotel, the staff are friendly the hotel is kept spotl;essly clean and the miads really do give the rooms a good clean everyday they hoover and mop and change the towels everyday, the bar, restaurant and pool bar pool staff are the same 5 people and they are very friendly and helpful, the only downside to our stay here was the mytravel rep she was useless, luckily thou the reception staff were a great help, but be warned the pools are really cold untill the end of the day when the sun has been on them all day as there is virtually no shaded area around the pool.
Watch out for the turtles who live in the lobbys waterfall pool
Excellent
Just returned from a week spent in the Forte da Oura and very impressed - the accommodation was excellent and although it was a studio apartment there was a separate bedroom. The kitchen was well equiped, rooms nice and clean as was the poolside spotless. We had lunch a couple of days in the Forte da Oura and the food was tasty and cheap. The only problem with the apartments was trying to get into the room even by the end of the week we were still confused by the lock!
The location is ideal for those looking for a lively holiday as the Forte da Oura is only a 10 minute walk from the Strip where there are some great pubs - our favourite was La Bamba!
Can't wait to return!
Good but ...
The hotel was nice and clean, great location, close to the beach and the strip. Rooms were very large and well furnished. Facilities were very modest though. The only problem was in the way the building is designed - it has a large open space in the middle going from the lobby all the way up to the roof, so the sound from nightly entertainment was going all the way to our room and it was LOUD. Felt like party is going right by our door (until 2 am). Don't recommend to people with small children or anybody who likes to go to bed early.
Forte da oura portugal
just got back from portugal and it was brilliant went with my 1yr old sone and boyfriend, we stayed at forteda oura it was lovely weather was brilliant the pool area was great and the room we had was massive very clean and got a nice welcome when we arrived. It was located on the strip and not far from the beach. well recommended.
