... were given a presentation at a gold store and then a leather store. Some of the gold pieces were cut in such a way they they sparkled like diamonds - however the cheapest piece was €1,600 so bit out of my holiday budget. The leather was beautiful and I was asked to be the model for the group. The jacket I was modelling felt amazing but at €400 was also not cheap and living in Qld doesn't give me much of an opportunity to wear ...

... from solid block to perfect form.

A side gallery held a museum of musical instruments, with one of the very first Stradivarius violins, an original harpsichord, and what looked to us like the first mandolin. More gawking at Michelangelo, some gawking at lesser known artists, and we were done!

We added more strolling and a simple yet delicious "typical Tuscan" dinner with a bottle of Montepulchiano wine. We talked about all sorts ...

... in 1873 - it took 7 days and 40 men to get him from the Palazzo Vecchio on Piazza della Signoria. Over the centuries he's been struck by lightning and attacked by rioters, sustaining a break to his his arm in 1527 when the Medicis were kicked out of Florence. But it is probably his rather small 'appendage' that everyone notices and makes comment to - the reason for this is that in classical art 'a large packet was not deemed elegant' ...so now you know!
