... but tried to focus on the positive side. I told them about shotgun blasts and dog chases, but also about canyons and mountains. They got excited and I could see a spark light up in their minds... Maybe every time they see a cyclist with big bags and a sweaty brow, they'll be inspired to do an adventure and let some of that unnecessary fear go. It's good to have a healthy fear about risks of travel, but some fear is put there by paranoia or by people just trying to keep you in ...

Family update

My grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family yesterday early afternoon. Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and prayers.

Today is John and my 13th wedding anniversary. A bit bittersweet, but pretty wonderful to spend it with family. Our family bought us a gift card to a local restaurant for an anniversary dinner tonight. There is so much love here right now.

Hey folks...

John and I are currently in Ft. Wayne, Indiana with my family. My grandma went into the hospital two weeks ago and we're now discussing hospice care. I'm not sure how long we'll be away from the show, but I wanted to let you know. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts.

... we travelled on to the KOA. Was a pretty nice campground. Very friendly staff. Well maintained. There was a Wet Hayride that night, but not for us! (If u had little kids they'd prly love it. They drove people thru the campground in a hay wagon. People on board as well as on the ground were armed with water balloons). I'm sure the kids had fun! We were at Tucano's eating all u can eat meat sliced off a stick!! Really good and ...

... the parking lot after they had parked. They came stocked full of groceries from Trader Joe’s (god, I miss that store!!) and our old trampoline that my mom had borrowed when she had knee surgery and needed to use it for physical therapy. My grandparents on my mom’s side arrived soon after and we all traveled into town for lunch and then coffee at a local coffeehouse.
