After Trier, we headed to Cologne to see the cathedral. Cologne is a big city and we had a heck of time finding the parking and then lugging our stuff into the hotel--a little stressful :). ... I had four of these) eggs were scrambled but you could ask the chef to cook you an omelet or fried eggs, I had fruit juice, coffee and a blueberry muffin to finish with, and all in all yummy and filling, a good start to the day.

... it seemed to go ok but I realised later that for such a short I break I needn't have paid for extra luggage, my carry on flight bag was big enough for my needs and could probably last 5 - 6 days with what I can pack into one cabin bag.

I arrived at Birmingham airport after taking two trains to get there about 90 mins before take off time, I had used the auto check in on line and printed a boarding pass before leaving ...

... is packed with shopping, bars and restaurants. It has only a few tourist attractions, such as the cathedral, the river Rhein or the roman ruins and a few museums. All in all it was a good two days as far as recharging is concerned as partying in Berlin, Prague and Amsterdam wore me out a bit. Highlight of Cologne is definitely the Lindt Chocolate museum and the UNESCO listed ...
