... wind to turn the motor off so we settled for lunch. We passed Belle Ile and the Quiberon a Peninsular on are way to Island of Houat. Still flat seas but wherever you looked other yachts were motoring 3.15pm engine off at last but only for 1 hour as at 4.15 engine on, what a shame lets hope for more wind tomorrow for going to Ile de yeu. Lovely settled eve at anchor made mince from pork steaks and made homemade burgers with rice and aubergine lovely way to end our day ...

... around F5-6 straight on the nose. After a short passage we anchored and stuck the weather out. We've been fortunate all along so one or two days of bad weather is not worth complaining about.

The following day we went up the river d'Auray picked up a mooring and then proceeded by dinghy to Auray. Such a lovely little town. Being a Sunday there was nothing open except restaurants but that didn't matter.

Last Wednesday M. and I set off on our annual journey by car, to our apartment in Spain, via Irish Ferries and a picturesque route through France. It nearly didn't happen this time... Because while doing some last minute shopping on Saturday, I fell heavily on the pavement in the town centre. At the time I was more embarrassed by the public spectacle than anything else, and then about some bruising to my hand. However, the main damage only became apparent ...

... as it was too much bother carrying both that and the camera by the end of the day, I'll upload some once I'm home) we headed back into town to find a patisserie to get the obligatory baguette for dinner and cake for dessert (tarte tatin for me and a chocolate caramel tart for Jonathan) and started the long, long drive home.
