    Fontainebleau and Provins

    Patrick arrived at 9am to check us out; we said good-bye and walked to the Metro for the train to CDG. We were at the airport by 10am, got our rental car, and hit the road out of town. We did not have much traffic, which was nice, nor rain. It was a fairly easy drive to Fontainebleau.

    We parked in a carpark right near the chateau then walked through town to get lunch (salad, pasta, wine, coffee).

    ... we had been used to people having some level of English. Here in the country that is not the case!!! The lady who came to take our order had no idea of what we were talking about. We finally saw a sign for what looked like a steak burger so we ordered that and hoped for the best!!!

    Thankfully i have done so much climbing and exercise since i have been here because i eat way too much. Its been so nice to have unrestrained access to a fridge with people putting food in front of me that i don't know when to stop. Food is France is just better. More expensive of course, but oh so good. Even the usual yogurts you get for the kids °Dantelle° are significantly nicer than the ones in NZ.
