Tom Tom has a penchant for excitement!

It was the day that Tom Tom really came into play! We knew that the mountain roads would be closed for Le Tour but nobody was able to tell us what time exactly! We started early and very soon encountered the gendarmerie closing roads - it was chaos...camper van drivers throwing fists at police, barriers closing roads. We had a rude awakening in Lessay Le Chateaux with rubbish truck men banging on our window to move so they could get past. It was straight home to Dinan then, well almost. We needed bread for dinner and deviated from the GPS lady's route to get it in the old town, and then she tried to send us driving down the Rue de Petit Fort to get home. Jonathan was having none of this - through a narrow arch ...

... kilometres away from the castle. The following morning Dean and I went for an early morning run to enjoy the spectacular Mont St Michel. The castle is humongous and despite all the restaurants, hotels and cafes down the bottom section it still represents what it was like very long ago, and because we went so early we got to enjoy the place before all the large tourist groups arrived, very ...
