... tour of the Hotel Dieu. This iwas a hospital built in 1452 which was created for the poor but also the nobility. The recreation of the rooms were lifelike. The hospital roof was built from colored tiles set in a pattern. This style was taken from the Flemish influence in this area.

We finally said goodbye to "our" boat this morning and spent a few hours hanging out playing in Branges as we waited for our taxi to Lyon. Amazing what you can do with things around you! Don't you love the little acorn folk? Weather along the boat trip has been awesome - quite lucky from what the locals have said. Food, locations and people just great - couldn't ask for ...

... and unfortunately were disappointed! We decided to eat off their mid priced menu X the choices appealed to us both. We both chose the terrine to start and the Farmhouse Chicken for main. Both were good but certainly not exceptional or even special. Dessert, chocolate macaroon, however, was gorgeous! Wine was good by pretty expensive. Overall we felt it was expensive.

Lyon is really only a travel stop on the way to Paris. We stop a Beaune for a bit of free time and some souvenir shopping but nothing to exciting until Paris. Here there were plenty of wineries, and we ended up stopping at three.
