... in to this lovely barber, Jacque, and had one of the most professional cuts I have witnessed, he was lovely and took so much care. We finally made it home at 5pm to do our homework before I made a smoked mackerel and chanterelle risotto with poached quail eggs accompanied by a glass of vin blanc , or two. ... just being there. We then went over some bridges zig zagging over the Seine, including the bridge with locks on it ( there are actually 2 of these). The bridge shined like gold as we approached. Unfortunately part of the side of the bridge had fallen down due to the weight of the locks, so they were repairing it and not encouraging any more people to put locks on the bridge. ... is also amazing, and shares many of the same qualities, except with a lot more hills and tourists.
We walked along the Seine in the evening, and made sure to visit all of the monuments at nighttime as well. In my opinion, Paris is more beautiful at night. We also made sure to engage in very French things, such as: eating pain au chocolat, croissants and many baguettes, enjoying French "petit dejeuner" at various cafes and drinking beer/wine before 11am.

To make the most of our day at Versailles we were up early to catch the train. As soon as we turned the corner the Palace shone so brilliantly, quite impressive. There were already a lot of people here as it was a Saturday and the weather was perfect. We started with the Palace itself, lots of, oh my god and look at that.
