Do you know the way to St Tropez...?

... expectation was that it would be a bit like a tacky Marbs or similar. In fact what we found was quite the opposite. Chic, some glam, clearly lots of money, great boutiques and friendly people were everywhere. St Tropez is quite a small town, small enough to walk around for sure and at this time of year not as busy as I'd have expected. I suspect that come July and August its rammed but we were lucky. Picking what ...

Stopover en route to Basse gorges du Verdon. Wild camping in the town. We sneaked in a canoe trip in the morning but as we returned the storms were brewing. Just as we left the heavens opened up. It didn't stop until 9.30 pm. We couldn't find the Aire so we pulled up in the village battened down the hatches and watched England V France Ladies in the World Cup Football. We are in bed early as we plan a drive ...

The last two days have been magical. Yesterday we travelled 2 hours to the Luberon to bike. We started in Roussillon, a red/ochre hilltop town and then flew down into the valley. That of course meant we had to then go up to Lacoste and then Bonnieux, two stunning hilltop towns...wee cobbled streets, stone houses and beautiful flowers. It was very hot and the grunt up onto the plateau was hard but we then zoomed down into Apt, where we had a great ...

... 30kmh all the way. Had lunch at Arles though which was interesting. Van Gogh came here to paint because of the quality of the light. Best sight today was a women driving past me the wrong way on a on ramp. The look on her face said I know this is wrong but I'm doing it anyway, viva la France! I have invented a game I like to call bath roulette. I have been playing if for a couple of weeks, when I check in to reception I don't ...
