Formule 1 Coffs Harbour

So Monday morning, all packed we picked up a hire car and set off on our journey South. We made a couple of touristy stops along the way, to see pretty beaches and the such, and headed towards Byron Bay. Stayed in a lovely Youth Hostel and at six the next morning we awoke to prepare for our Sky Dive. It is a taxi ride down to Coff's harbour where we had an excellent Indian meal on the Jetty, which we found out later is not on the waterfront! There is a large Sikh community aroung here so an Indian meal is a good option. The place is not really pretty being a working fishing harbour rather than for pleasure boats. There ...

... Then it was back to the hostel for the evening where we spent the night chatting to an Irish couple who are in our dorm. Our only full day here was spent firstly walking round the botanical gardens seeing all the different plants and trees from all around the world. Then after lunch we borrowed a canoe and took it all the way up the river and then all the way back down as far as the sea. That was really good fun but ...

... went through the parts of the board, how to look cool & a bit of information on how to read the waves. Armed with our very big soft surf boards (of which most of the girls struggled to carry) we made our way to the beach. The tide was high and the creek & ocean had pretty much joined together. ... in silence for several hours on the pacific highway and seeing absolutely nothing we arrived in Coffs Harbour in the dark so I have no idea what it is actually like here cos I can't see! Think I've already decided that this trip is a mistake and that the best thing to do is go back to Sydney and transfer the van into Asrins name, get my bond money back and just get an earlier flight to Singapore but I'll see how it goes tomorrow

Well we finally left Syndey today - although very nearly missed the bus as my alarm didnt go off so literally jumped in a cab when the bus was due to be leaving! Made it though, only just. Spent all of today on a bus - with a hangover this was not very fun. 10hours later we arrived at Arrawarra beach surf camp, 10mins north of Coffs Harbour.
