... when we saw Australians on television for the first time after nearly 5 weeks was that everyone has this funny accent which of course we do too.

Next trip? Maybe a couple of weeks in a small village in Tuscany or Provence? A wine tasting tour of France? A cruise on the Rhone? A walking tour of Austria perhaps? The lotto is up to $20 million this week so we had better get a ticket.

Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia falkewind... in a café for a bit eating more delicious treats when Sonia came to meet up with me and we walked around a bit more. I bought a new Ipod and a new USB and new contact stuff, so I’m good to go!

Saturday night was also quite eventful, as I went to see a Rugby League game! We were watching Canberra vs Brisbane, and I had been warned that the Canberra team pretty much sucked. Surprise surprise, Canberra ended up winning 56 ...
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia caro_paquetteMONTAG, 5. Januar 2009 - Tschuess, Sydney !!
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia rossis_on_tour... at the inn for boys! We had to book a motel quite a bit out of the centre for more than we would like to pay. Once we had accommodation organised, we went back to book the bus. The bus we wanted was filled so we couldn't leave until the later bus which meant a late arrival in Canberra. That put an end to meeting the relatives and we were stuck in Canberra for 3 expensive, non-refundable, nights! All reports of Canberra were to give it a miss ...
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia marietherese... and I got the kayak into the water and all three of us piled on-board. Kayaking was not our strongest leg but as it was the final leg we pushed on. Arriving back at shore, it seemed to take forever to pack up the kayak and paddles and then run for the finishing line (although again Jarrod and I were suffering badly from cramps).

Our final time was 4:40:47, finishing 77th out of 90 entries.
Canberra, Australia joergen... now!). What is even stranger is that there are literally hundreds of car parks around, and all of them seem to be full. I guess everyone in Canberra just drives around car parks all night!! Anyway we finally found a bar with more than 2 people in so had a few beers there and got talking to some aussi's from Sydney who were equally unimpressed with the Canberra nightlife. The next day I did a lot of sightseeing which was ...
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia davidb123uk2... around the place, also there are some good views down by the river. So whilst exploring the town we hit the main sights of Canberra which included the art museum (with some very weird modern art), the parliament building (that we weren't allowed inside), we did the city walk and looked round a few shops. We had pretty much covered all Canberra had to offer in 3 hours so headed back to our hostel for something warm to eat and an early night ...
Canberra, Australia nickandbevOK, So we went to Mareeba, the coffee plantation, saw a movie explaining how the coffee beans are grown & what they go thru before they reach your kitchen. We were also given a lesson on how flat whites & other specialty coffees are made. They had a lovely cafe with tables & chairs outside. Then he took us to the CARAVAN where we would be staying. First, outside the caravan we ...
