... space and very friendly caretakers.

Tuesday November 25 - off to Byron Bay. Nice beaches and shops but felt a little out of place amongst the young surfies and backpackers. Not too many caravaners around but plenty of backpackers in their "whiz bang vans". Every parking spot near the main centre is pay to park. We visited Point Byron - most easterly point on mainland Australia. Back to camp through Suffolk ...

... Gibraltar Range National Park and then 8km on a good unsealed road to Mulligans Hut and today's 6km, 1.5hr bushwalk to the Needles. The camping area at Mulligans was nearly full due to school holidays and we saw a beautiful running river complete with swimming holes and sandy beaches! Definitely have to come back here. From here we headed southeast back down to Grafton for lunch and fuel before rejoining the Pacific Hwy north to Yamba and Calypso ...

... and left the others to walk down the the beach. I was there by 7:30am and the beach was empty other than loads of little crabs that come out after the sea has gone down and roll up the sand into little balls. I layed on the the beach and fell asleep. Much better than sleeping in the room when it's sunny outside. One day when I was in the sea we were playing with a ball in the water and I saw something moving... It berried itself ...
