So I am nearing the end of my New Zealand journey and I thought this would be a good time to reflect and share about my time here and next steps upon my return. For those of you that don't know I applied for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust back in September 2013 for a Travel Fellowship around New Zealand to research 'How young people lead creative change?' I have previously mentioned my less than worldly view of the world. I assumed New Zealand would be a mini Australia. Well, two mini Australias strung together. I was sophisticated enough to know there was a north AND a south island. Tasmania is a mini Australia. ...

... Went through the scanners then into the lounge, were greeted by a woman who gave us a Kitkat each!
Had another quick scan for a computer, but was told they’d been removed as they were building, everywhere seemed to have building work.
Looked for a drink but everything was so over-priced, ended up just getting a water, that was still over-priced.
The departures lounge wasn’t great, so we waited on a bench until we could board at 3:35pm.
