      ... an hour down to Byron Bay and lay on the beach and swam in the beautiful warm water for a couple of hours. It was thirty something degrees and we are not sunburnt- our skin is sun-kissed and feels so good after 6 weeks of snow and temperatures below 0 haha!       ... large number of wipes and some exuberant scrubbing. We saw quite a bit of Hong Kong airport as our gate number was changed 3 times.       On our way out of the coromandel peninsula we stopped at the picturesque beach of Otama bay. We did a spot of fishing with some friendly locals and caught two snappers! They were big ones so the locals were happy. We also scavenged for clams and mussels on the beach and managed to get enough for our dinner! We visited the site of an old gold mine after in the Karanghake gorge - it went bust in the 1960's, lots of old rusting machines and mine tunnels ...

      ... and chicken wraps awaited us. This was delicious and one thing we can say about New Zealand is that we did not have a bad meal anywhere.

      We were then escorted to our own private pool which overlooked Lake Rotorua and was magnificent. It was also extremely hot however and when our half an hour was up we were quite relieved to be getting out.
