... and easily found the main centre Piazza. This was pretty with church and statue of San Oronzo dominating the square. Apparently, he is the town protector. Then we proceeded to get lost. Craig is usually excellent but the map was **** and when we ended up in the residential area (full of all white houses), most of them had no idea how to direct us (??? No comment). Today was our last day of pedaling. We finished strong covering 108 kilometers which was our biggest day of the trip. We started from Otranto and rode up along the coast and through the olive groves nearly to Brindisi then turned inland, and back south, toward our destination of Lecce.
