... a small public park with a playground. Beyond the park we entered an area of the city which had mostly newer apartment buildings with ground floor shops. There were many famous name Italian brands on display at substantial discount, but as it was siesta, everything was closed much to Jeed's and Stewart's disappointment.

Day 5

The kids got up late. It seems we are well and truly recovered from any jet lag. Jeed and I spent the best part of the morning checking email. By the time we eventually headed out we soon discovered that in Bindisi they take Siesta pretty seriously. The inhabitants of this city take a long afternoon nap between 1.30 pm and 5.30 pm. Day 4

We awoke early the next morning at 5.30 am. The taxi was waiting for us at 6.30 am. We were anxiously awaiting the apartment owner to arrive to collect the apartment keys. We had a train to catch.
