We'd been looking forward to Moscow for many reasons - no train for 3 days and 2 nights being one of them - so after we arrived on the early morning train, we lost no time in checking into our hotel (built for the 1980 Olympics and not seen much in the way of upgrading since!) and jumped on the subway straight into the city. For the last three days I have been privileged to have been present at the World Athletics Championships at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. This was originally called Lenin Stadium and it is the same arena in which we sat to watch the events of the 1980 Olympics. We are having a much different experience today.

... got off, an older Russian gentleman and his even more elderly father (he was 83!) came into the cabin. We established that they were Muslims and therefore didn't want to share our vodka!
