    What a day! After a 4.30 start our bus eventually turned up to take us up into the mountains.
    At first the drive was fairly calm just occasionally dodging pilgrims as trekked towards the source of the four religious rivers. We stopped devpragay for the confluence. The two rivers, Alaknanda (holy one)and the Bhagirathi and together this becomes the Ganga.

    ... concession, but the vast majority of Asan is closed to people. There are ample places to bird watch from the shoreline. In fact, this was one of the locations throughout the state that hosted the Utterakhand Spring Bird Festival this past February.

    This trip was another great opportunity to learn about how another Protected Area is being managed and to add to our growing list of birds observed during our time in the country.

    ... t take him long to warm up and a big smile was constantly on his face. He also loved being able to get his hands on an iphone and camera, like all kids it doesn't matter where you are in the world they are al fascinated by technology. Shanu and his family showed us their home and then more friendly exchanges and singing and yes also Bollywood style dancing and yes by Leah and I joining in too!!
