... down the river to Eat Street Market. Big market area buzzing with lots of people and all lite up. There was loads and loads of different food stalls all different types of food, we started with a curly wurley fried potato then we went onto a small skewer of beef with small lager then Rob had a seafood basket with chips and I had Mexican good job we had just under 2 mile walk home to help that lot go down

... the best and most embarrassing
part of the day was this story from Stephanie. She came out of the
back dragging some branches (like Yu, Cilene and I were doing that
afternoon). She had previously been in the “plat house” and there
was an American family in there. Stephanie overheard the wife exclaim
in awe. “They have a platypus! I thought they were extinct! How do
they have one if they are extinct?! Wow!” ...
... br> we hung out.
At the cockatoos, we had a massive play
session. It was amazing. First, one cockatoo kept drumming “buh-duh,
buh-duh, buh-duh, buh-duh” with his tongue and bobbing his head. It
was hilarious. Daniel and I laughed until we cried when the bird did
it. Just the tone, the noise and the head movement was too much!
Anther cockatoo was in front on me and
we had a body-tilting exchange. In a bobbing movement, the birdie
... and had taken me a good few hours to type. Luckily (unluckily), I’ve been on the bus down from Hervey Bay to Surfers Paradise all day today (Saturday 22 August), so haven’t had much else to do!
This is the longest I’ve gone so far on this trip without writing a blog entry – it will not be this long again before I do the next one – it’s been really difficult to remember stuff, especially since I lost my notepad with all my scribbles on!
I will check in again ...
... we have learnt much, [have a further insight into the
Australian physic]… and hope to sail again one of these days.

Able to replenish our Kindle Books at last, managed to get
through quite a few books along our way. Especially enjoyed Anna Jacobs, when I
first sampled Anna, The Swan River ...
