... ever been inside and it was so cute! She had these three huge bookcases that her architect sister designed filled with books, paintings and drawings on the wall and a baby grand piano that a girl in our class played while we sipped our tea. The apartment itself was pretty large by Italian standards and our class of about 25 fit inside her living/dinning room with ease.

... Germany came a day later. They were both bubbly happy people who really brightened up the farm for us. Vilmo got nervous we wouldn't finish so we each got our own trees and worked extra hard getting all the olives down. I left before everything finished but was there to see it winding down. I also fell in love with Vilmo's pets especially his dog Scooby Doo who was a colly mix and always sat by us while we picked and waited in the morning by the door ...
Tuscany, Italy hippietraveler... a guidebook recommendation) for lunch – and It. Was. Awesome. Set off a little street, through a small door framed in ivy, this little hole-in-the-wall served up phenomenal Tuscan food. (A sign inside the restaurant stated: “Slow Food Zone.” Hah.) We started out with bruschetta, and from there, we each had a pasta as our first plate (“primi piatti”) – I had a spicy spaghetti with meat sauce, and Murray had the ...

... us to “stop” and only go up the stairs when the green “avante” light came on. So it ended up being a bad thing that there were only two people in front of me, because that meant they had just let people go up the tower. And we ended up waiting about 40 minutes before we got to go up. But the climb up was really fun. There was no elevator so I had to walk up the steps There were 300 according to Rick Steves, but 400 according to the ...
Siena, Tuscany, Italy zolina... first Dutch dinner: Seasoned Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes and Carrots mixed with spices, onions and gravy. It was delicious! We have also discovered Chipotle: European Style! Turkish food is very popular here so there is a Kabob place down the street that we were introduced to. Basically the Kabob is a burrito with Chicken or Lamb and you have your choice of sauces (hot, mild, humus....) and lettuce, tomato ...
Siena, Tuscany, Italy clione... nice and fun. Our roommate is very cute and nice. I think Chris is in love....well you know....IF he batted for our team (which he is now claiming not to....thanks...you know who!) Rachel: Siena was fantastic, very arobic with all the STEEP streets, and relaxing at the same time. Rome again was great, all though very hot this time around!
Siena, Italy toddnrachel... lions to pose for photos, people standing in the piazza with ferral pigeons on their arms and heads and adults walking around with masks on as if they were going to a masquerade party. It was ridiculous but also gave us a laugh. Speaking of laughs, we decided to buy a takeaway pizza and sit by the water - this pizza was literally the size of a car tyre. Put it this way, it was big enough for a family to point at us and ...
Siena, Italy kbsp... is a dive. But Gary and I had a nice evening exploring il Campo after a whirlwind "See-Siena-In-Half-An-Hour" orientation by our guide. Had Ribolitta and pizza -- plus Chianti and espresso-- at La Speranza. Managed to win a smile from a stressed out waiter that mumbled "Stupida gente" at the couple a few tables away...and then walked around a bit more, enjoying Siena after dark. It's beautiful at night and we can't wait to see the rest of the city tomorrow. Ciao!
