... be invalid was that we had had been in the queue so long that the timing on the ticket no longer made any sense!!! Anyway the whole saga meant that we had both now perfected the quality of patience. (Or not..) Hoorah we were now on the final 10km up the side of Lake Garda. The final hurdle in this journey was going to be the last 1km as the campsite website had warned us that the approach is along very narrow streets so campers with big outfits would need to take care. ...

... You didn't really want to think about it too much otherwise it would freak you out - There were a few people sitting down for the journey, Elaine would have no chance! Once we were up though the views again were incredible in every direction. See the photos for some idea although it's very difficult to do it justice. The terrain was like we had landed on another planet and the glacier looked awesome. If you have crampons you can walk ...

... gush, what on earth was that?? That was our awning corner pole collapsing under the weight of water from the roof! We all scrambled outside to support the rest of the awning and check out the damage. The worst part about the whole evening was that we had to postpone the pancakes!! ...

    ... this begins at Bormio.

We begin to climb....all ok..then come to a sign advising 'narrow rd'...they weren't jokingly! It was 1 vehicle width & had flimsy barrier on one side, more to advise you where the road ended I believed, as it was not going to stop you tumbling down the sheer drop.

oh yes, 'sheer drop'. This quickly became very apparent when the barrier completely disappeared!! Aah! I glanced down once, ...

    Training Day 4

A travel blog entry by amandafield2 on Jul 28, 2015

Today before sailing we went to the bike shop and got some bikes. When we were on the water we were going downwind then up and tacked and then the vang broke. We tried to get Bully's attention but he didn't see us so we went to the other rib and Sam, Archies Dad, tied a knot so we could finish the training session. After sailing a few of us kids went back to the Coper's and then we went and had pizza together. Mum had dinner at Jill and Guy Abels with Chris.
