... track ...like a cafe and that's it ... Gelato and a water and I'm heading home to put my feet up for a bit. Got a hot date tonight !! So glad I decided to put my power walk of the lake on hold this morn !! Oh and my mother tells me I went to Mt Hotham as a kid and saw snow ...well gotta say ..can't been to memorable as I can't remember I thing about it ....snow ..one would think that would have some kind of impact on ones memory ...
... realised we weren't on the right path at all, we
weren’t even in the right valley. Not to worry, we re-planned the route and
carried on. The walk took us towards the town of Terlago and the Lago di
Terlago before heading round Monte Mezzana and climbing back up to the village
of Covelo and on the village of Monte Terlago where our campsite is. The walk
was lovely, past vineyards and apple orchards.
Saturday 20th July
... a couple we had seen on another walk two days before.
We stopped for lunch and took in the views, the farm house with its shuttered windows and pots filled with geraniums, the flower strewn meadow and the sheer grey rock of the mountains providing the back drop.
The path down took us through Ledro Land Art, a woodland trail dotted with sculptures. Before we knew it, we were back at the lake and just a short walk back to the campsite.
Set off for Modena this morning - Ferrari country!!!! Actually, the region is home to Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti and Ducatti as well, and so I was hoping that our visit to the Enzo Ferrari Museum would give me enough time for a decent look around! We have spent eons looking at ancient churches, castles and buildings etc. and as lovely as they are, I am totally over them!!!!
So I endured an hour of central Modena with its large Cathedral and cobblestones, before we found ...
Today's tour was to Bolzano, close to the Austrian border. We arrived there late in the morning, stopping for a quick espresso at a truck stop - it's hard to get used to doing things the Italian Way when you have to pay for what you want first, then go and join the queue to get served! So simply getting a coffee takes quite a while, especially when the Italians are prone to barging in front of anyone!
