... ladies was wearing. We were gobsmacked when she took them off and handed them to Kelly as a gift. Colombians really are some of the nicest people we have met.

We left Isabel and her family with the promise of meeting up the next day for a party. After some very delicious chicken we headed back to our 'hostel' for the evening's festivities. We drank with the others for a while before heading off the a salsa street party where we danced the night away!

... the young colombian girls (think very much gypsy wedding), but I think you just have to accept it as part of their culture. Plenty of meat on a stick, beer and salsa. And the added touch of everyone wearing their colombian football shirts- a sea of happy yellow people. Quite the party.

... of 50 people all wanting a picture! Everyone was friendly and it was great just to go with the flow and see where we ended up. As you can see from all the pictures, carnival is really messy... The main downside of the gringo effect is that every little kid (and many adults) we passed hit us with blasts of flour and foam. Vendors were selling it everywhere. ... one also arrived ahead of schedule, at 3.30am on Tuesday morning but due to the time difference it was 3am. We had to wait until 7am for a ticket office to open then got a ticket to Caracas.
