... is located next to the 'Tombs of the Kings' excavation site on the fringe of the main town. It is right on the beach fifteen minutes away from all the other hotels in the centre of Paphos. Secondly the design of the hotel does reflect ...
Paphos, Cyprus paulatluxuryWe stayed in Polis for the morning and left after a last lunch at one of the restaurants in town. We were sorry to leave Polis, it's a lovely little place, so relaxed and quiet, we got very comfortable there! We headed off down to Paphos and looked around the Fort & the ruins of Old Paphos before watching a stunning sunset over the sea, having dinner in the harbour and heading back to the airport to fly home...
Paphos, Cyprus anneowensWe stayed local today, but the beach at Polis isn't that great so we scooted down the road to Latsis and the beach there. Latsis (or Latchi) was once a small village by the sea but now it's enveloped in new developments of holiday villas. It's sort of stretched out along the road with a few restaurants and bars n the middle. The beach is nice if you go to the bit behind the restaurants as the main road ...

Thursday, July 2, 2009—Paphos
This morning we headed over to the Kato
Pafos Archaeological Park and checked out the local ruins. After
about forty minutes we were too hot and headed back to the car. We
proceeded to drive north to the Baths of Aphrodite and from there we
deduced that there would be some beautiful coast line in that area
and the quickest way would be to follow the inland roads that cut ...
... for the rental car. He
drove us to their main office where I signed a few papers (nobody
ever actually checked my license) and I was hand the keys to a car.
Its important to note that I have had only twenty minutes experience
driving on the left. Its also important to point out that the car
was running when I took possession of it. This will be relevant
later.
After saying a short prayer under my
breath, I took off ...
... you choose which you want at check in. To me the Thalassa Boutique Hotel is the best on the island. At the western end of the island the splendid Anassa Resort LINK in Latchi a true five star resort. The only hotel left to mention is the Columbia Beach Resort LINK in Pissouri Bay between Paphos and Limassol. There are only two hotels in this bay and only a small village very much away from it all. The hotel has a good Spa centre its altogether a good place for total relaxation
paphos, Cyprus paulatluxuryHaving a car we decided to take ourselves off to spend the day at Coral Beach which, we'd heard, was one of the nicest in Cyprus. It's about half-way between Polis & Paphos and took about 45 minutes to drive to. The town wasn't particularly nice, a bit like Blackpool, and we were glad we had decided to stay in Polis (we had been looking at hotels in Coral Beach but they were quite expensive ...
Polis, Cyprus anneowens... Kykos we drove on a bit to a little village called Pedolas which has an incredibly old Byzantine church. It also has a musum stuffed full of icons from various local churches. The museum and church are owned and run by people who live in the village and we met a couple of real characters! We drove back to Polis & were back in time for dinner at one of the restaurants in the town. Lovely day!
Polis, Cyprus anneowensWe explored the little town of Polis. It's a sweet place, a tourist town but it wasn't busy & full of people - maybe it was the time of year. The beach isn't great and we didn't stay there long. There are lots of restaurants of various types and budgets. Mariela Apartments suits us down to the ground - I imagine it gets very very busy in-season, but at ...
Polis, Cyprus anneowens... really feels like a real holiday, not to bother cook, or clean.
I booked 4 months ahead a nice room at the Mill Hotel which is the best hotel in Kakopetria – a beautiful village that keeps its tradition. This beautiful village is about half an hour drive from the highest peak of the Troodos mountains.
The name of the village in Greek ...
