... for shelter and had a beer. Went back to the same place for dinner and got a smaller meal this time. Still very good though. Went back to the hostel and did the same thing as the night before. Good fun though. Darryn woke up in the middle of the night confused and wearing someone else's shirt and then went and stood out on the balcony and tried to calm down! ... Brett who had been living/working there for the last 6 weeks. They were all really fun and nice. The hostel only had 10 people capacity but had a good common space and friendly people. ... away my tears. And I have my first swim in the Black Sea. It's not quite as clear as the Aegean or the Med, but it's pretty transparent still and, it's also still lifeless. In Varna, they have a Sea Garden, essentially a parkland running parallel to the sea side for some kilometres. It's a great place to wander, get lost and then find your way. ... divided between “free” patches and “pay” beaches. The price on the pay beach is 30lev (€15) per person. It seems to be a special bay as tourist boats with day trippers come in to anchor for a swim and shore visit. The swimming is good particularly early on when we were the only people in the water.

Varna is a pretty nondescript town. Third largest in Bulgaria, with a large port and beaches. And a history of Mafia. We went to ANOTHER archeological museum. This one is known for having the oldest collection of worked gold in the world. Otherwise, a lot of Greek and Roman things.
