I did rally to join them afterwards though and we circled around to West Berlin, driving by their version of the White House where Chancellor Merkel struggles on with the Greeks. We also stopped by the Olympic Stadium, home of the infamous 1936 Olympics where Hitler watched in fury as (Ohio native and The Ohio State ...

Arriving at our stop we now had to walk through Central Berlin to find the hostel. Remember we have no luxury phone data to use google maps, instead it is ...

... but I knew better, the fact they were all wearing Waikato colours, and waving Waikato flags, in honour of my place of birth, a dead giveaway! Towards the end of the party they all started hugging me, and chanting 'happy birthday to you'...at least that's what I think 'wir sind die meister' means in English?! Very friendly, those Germans! Anyway, a little weary after last nights celebrations, I am now on a train to Amsterdam, the final stop in my quick and dirty European ...
