... strolled by. I would guess that pup was about six months old. He or she was a real beauty and made both Marilyn and me quite puppy-sick for our kids!
We continued on strolling the streets and heard a great oom-pa-pa band playing at the local German pub/restaurant... that added great energy and spirit - character - to the area.
Without much to see except for some lovely old architecture, we resigned ourselves back to the car and headed home for our final dinner ...
... NOT. We found the end of Route 66 on the pier chatted with the guy in the booth who gave us a completion certificate ($7) and took our photograph. The main journey was complete we had traversed through nine states along America's Main Street.

... can be found in the "old" country, but made with a US twist as can be imagined. For the connaisseurs; the pastries are not as crispy as the originals, but rather midway between the structure of danish and cinnamon buns. Overall pretty good, and they certainly leverage the great selection of fresh fruit etc to do variations that we normally don't see in Denmark or Sweden; blueberry, cherry, peach etc etc.

A few minutes later, the police officers came and, after an interrogation, handcuffed the young man and arrested him. ... worth it. We then headed over to Mike's office and shop for a tour. I was quite impressed with what he has so far and all that he has built up. He has come a long way from those days some 30+ years ago when he first headed to California in a broken down old pickup. Afterwards we met up with Tom for some dinner and then back to Mike's. All in all, a good day. Tomorrow we are off to Santa ...
