... camera in my lap. I didn't anticipate any problem but he said our tickets weren't validated. I told him we didn't know we were supposed to validate them.

Apparently they are open ended tickets, even though when you buy them from the machine you select a specific train and time. It says in very tiny print on the back you must validate them (i.e. mark them as used). News to me and we didn't see anyone else validating their tickets. ...

... of Monte Carlo and the Monaco Palace, we had some annoying rain for this stop. Back on the bus to head to Cannes for our hotel for 2 night's.YEAH love these 2 night stops.
Feeling much better today, antibiotics and cold and flu tabs kicked in, {not deafening everyone with my coughing}
So today we had a private guide who showed us so much - amazing places ...

... Steps since we had a train to catch and in our rush went up the side staircase of the steps instead. Realizing we did not have a picture of them we hurried down the 138 steps, took our picture (which also couldn't be complete without the construction scaffolding in the background) and ran back up in order to catch the metro to grab the train. On the route to the Cinque Terre we got off at the Pisa stop in order to visit before ...

... missed it, the next one wasn't until 5:44). So, we booked it back through Pisa - and it was getting a bit warm out -- thus we arrived back at the station slightly cranky but with a little time to spare to buy our tickets (after some questioning as to whether we could make the 13 minute connection in La Spezia).

It was about an hour to our change in La Spezia. This train ride also afforded us great views, this time ...

Today was a long drive day broken up with a few stops along the way. Our first stop was made at Fragonard Perfumery where we learnt about how they make all different perfumes and soaps. As I have done something like this before it wasn't my favourite activity but was still interesting to see, especially with a world famous perfumery.
